On July 1, 2017, our engineers Mr. Liu and Mr. Shen flew to Guangdong to provide on-site guidance regarding unstable measurement data from the Doppler flowmeter at Xiaokeng Reservoir in Shaoguan.
Despite the scorching heat, the engineers brought testing equipment and Doppler products to the reservoir site without delay. They spent over an hour inspecting and troubleshooting the cause of the problem. Since the results from checking the above-water instruments and comparative testing of underwater flow velocity were not satisfactory, our engineers went directly into the river channel for further inspection, which greatly impressed the customer. Fortunately, it was through this meticulous in-water inspection and analysis that the root cause was ultimately identified: resonance phenomena were causing the unstable measurement data. By making slight modifications to the installation method, our team perfectly resolved the issue.
After adjusting the installation, the Doppler flowmeter was re-submerged for testing, and the results were excellent — the data was stable with no signal dropouts.
The weather at Shaoguan Reservoir was extremely unpredictable. On the first day, the engineers were drenched in sweat under the blazing sun; on the second day, continuous rain added significant difficulty to the inspection work. However, none of this mattered — as long as the customer's problem was solved, hardship and discomfort are trivial in the eyes of Dayu Electronics engineers.
