Dayu Electronics: Multi-Scenario Applications of the Split-Type Ultrasonic Depth Sounder
In scenarios such as reservoirs, waterways, lakes, and unmanned surface vehicle (USV) surveying, accurate underwater depth measurement is a critical link in hydrological monitoring, waterway maintenance, and underwater mapping. The Dayu Electronics split-type ultrasonic depth sounder is a contact-type, high-reliability water depth measuring instrument that is easy to install and maintain. It detects underwater distance through the principle of sound wave propagation in liquid, and is a new-generation ultrasonic depth sounding device with fully independent intellectual property rights.

The split-type design allows flexible installation of the main unit and the probe. The standard probe cable length is 10 meters, and depending on the range, the probe cable can be extended up to 100 meters to suit different on-site installation distances. The device supports multiple standard range selections, and custom long-range models can be provided according to user requirements. Measurement accuracy is stable and reliable, and an LCD display is included for intuitive and convenient on-site data reading.

In terms of output and control, the device supports 4~20mA analog signal output, which is compatible with PLCs, data acquisition systems, and other equipment. Relay output is optional to meet requirements such as excessive water depth alarms and interlock control. It also supports RS485 or RS232 communication interfaces for convenient connection to host computer systems for centralized data management.

The device has excellent protection ratings: the display instrument is rated IP65, and the probe is rated IP68, making it suitable for humid and water-rich outdoor working environments. The operating temperature range covers the instrument from -20 to +60°C and the probe from -20 to +80°C, accommodating different seasonal and environmental temperature conditions. It is widely used in reservoir depth measurement, waterway depth measurement, lake depth detection, and unmanned surface vehicle (USV) underwater mapping. With advantages of easy installation, low maintenance costs, and stable long-term operation, it provides reliable data support for hydrological monitoring and underwater mapping.

During installation, the following standards must be followed: the sensor should be installed perpendicular to the riverbed bottom, the probe should be fully submerged in water, and there should be no obstacles within a radius of 1 meter around the probe. There must be no other obstacles in the ultrasonic irradiation range; otherwise, incorrect depth measurements may occur. The probe should be installed away from gas bubbles caused by sudden flow velocity changes and active floating solids to ensure measurement stability.
