In industrial level monitoring scenarios, media crystallization is one of the key factors affecting the stable operation of integrated ultrasonic level meters. In industrial settings, liquids such as brine/salt solutions, naphthalene, sulfur, honey, sugar solutions, copper sulfate, alum, oxalic acid, and others exhibit varying degrees of crystallization characteristics. During evaporation or temperature changes, these media tend to form solid deposits on the probe surface, which can affect the transmission and reception of ultrasonic signals, reducing measurement accuracy or even causing measurement failure.

The crystallization characteristics of some media are directly related to temperature. For example, phenol solidifies below 40.85°C, paraffin wax solidifies below 54°C, acetic acid solidifies below 13.4°C, and benzene solidifies below 5.5°C. The crystallization risk for such media is closely linked to ambient temperature, and users can avoid probe surface crystallization by controlling the temperature.



Dayu Electronics reminds users that when selecting and using integrated ultrasonic level meters, the crystallization characteristics of the medium must be identified in advance: if the medium tends to crystallize on the probe surface, refer to optimization solutions such as insulation and regular cleaning, or evaluate other types of instruments; if crystallization occurs only on the liquid surface without adhering to the probe surface, the ultrasonic level meter can be used normally.
