Dayu Electronics Teaches You How to Measure Ship Draft Using Sixteen Beams
The customer needs to measure the draft of ships navigating the Min River. A ship draft sensor will be installed at a certain point along the Min River. Considering the sensor's detection range limitations and the varying sediment content in the river due to seasonal changes, and to increase measurement accuracy while reducing errors, measurement can only be performed in the narrowest section of the river. First, confirm the draft of the ships to be measured, and exclude those that do not require draft measurement. Next, detect water depth at the narrowest points of the river channel, collect depth data from shallow and deep areas, and determine which location has the narrowest deep-water section to install the draft sensor there. Furthermore, to increase measurement accuracy, two sets of draft sensors will be installed to ensure reliable data transmission.

The system is also paired with an RTU for data transmission and integration with the IoT system, allowing real-time viewing of the draft of passing ships. If imaging display is required, an algorithm can simulate the ship's image and display the real-time draft along with the draft data.
