Sludge Level Monitoring in a Factory Sedimentation Tank [Dayu Electronics]

　　Overview: This project involves sludge level monitoring in a sedimentation tank at a factory in Huangpu District, Guangzhou. It effectively measures the thickness of the sludge layer in the tank, allowing preventive measures to be taken in advance. The sludge layer at the bottom of the tank is monitored in real time. The tank is cylindrical, with a total height of about 2 meters and a diameter of over 3 meters. Most of the time, the water is clear, but occasionally it has a darker color, resembling cola, and is non-corrosive. The ultrasonic sludge level meter outputs a 4–20 mA signal to the PLC control system, which has built-in high and low level alarm relay contacts that trigger alarms to remind relevant factory staff to take appropriate actions in a timely manner.

　　Product selection: Based on on-site inspection and the owner's requirements, the product selected for this project is the split-type ultrasonic sludge level meter manufactured by Fuzhou Dayu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., which enables on-site collection of front-end distance, sludge level, and water temperature.

　　For on-site installation, the mounting accessories provided by Fuzhou Dayu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. are used in conjunction with the customer's bracket. The probe is installed below the lowest water level throughout the year, and the area below the sensor's emission angle is kept free of obstructions to avoid errors in ultrasonic measurement feedback.
