Selection and Installation of Dayu Electronics Ultrasonic Level Gauge in Water-Based Paint Tanks
I. Product Features:
Ultrasonic level gauge is a non-contact, high-precision, cost-effective, and easy-to-install and maintain level measurement instrument for both solid and liquid applications. It meets level measurement requirements without contacting the medium and can be used in tanks with temperatures not exceeding 70°C. The instrument itself can withstand a pressure of 0.3MPa. For measurements in tanks with higher pressure, a pressure-resistant flange must be added for connection and installation.

IV. Customer Measurement Requirements and Conditions:
1. Need to measure the height of the liquid inside the tank. Measurement medium: water-based paint.
2. Tank heights are 400mm, 600mm, and 750mm. There are no stirring blades inside the tanks, and the medium itself does not cause material build-up.
3. The tank material is stainless steel, and the water-based paint has a certain corrosive effect on the conveying pipes.
4. Install a domestic ultrasonic level gauge to replace imported instruments.

V. Water-Based Paint Tank Shape:
VI. Product Selection Recommendation:
Choose an integrated ultrasonic level gauge (anti-corrosion and explosion-proof type), additionally equipped with a PTFE O-ring and PTFE nut for fixation. Since the maximum height of this tank is only 750mm, we select a 100KHz frequency for the ultrasonic transducer. The transducer model is DYA-100-02PE-FB, material: PVDF, with a maximum range of 2 meters. (Transducer features: blind zone of only 130mm, beam width at half-power angle @-3dB: 4.8°±10%, sharpness angle: 11.3°±10%.)

VII. Installation Requirements:
1. Since this small-blind-zone transducer has a blind zone of 130mm, it is recommended to add a DN100 or DN150 guide pipe during installation. The guide pipe height should be about 200mm (i.e., transducer length 92mm, blind zone 130mm, installation clearance 20~25mm).
2. Since the emission sharpness angle of the ultrasonic transducer is 11.3°, when there is no liquid inside the tank, the ultrasonic radiation range diameter is 148mm, so the guide pipe should be at least 80mm away from the side wall.
3. During installation, a PTFE flange or stainless steel flange should be used, along with the PTFE O-ring and PTFE nuts provided by the manufacturer for connection. The transducer connection thread size is M48*2.
4. The electrical interface should be connected with explosion-proof flexible conduit for routing, and all cables should be two-core shielded wires.
5. The ultrasonic level gauge requires effective grounding during installation.
