III. Product Used: Integrated ultrasonic level meter
Overview: This project involves water storage tank level monitoring at a park in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It monitors the real-time water level in 3 water storage tanks within the park, enabling automatic control of water inflow and outflow. It effectively provides early water level alarm warnings and then controls the automatic valve switch of the tap water pipeline. The tanks are monitored in real-time, with 4~20mA output to the PLC control system. The PLC has built-in high and low level alarm contact switch outputs to control the automatic valve switch, achieving automated control and ensuring the stored water volume in the tanks.

Product Selection: Based on the on-site inspection and the owner's requirements, the manufacturer selected for this project is: Fuzhou Dayu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., producing the integrated ultrasonic level meter, to achieve on-site collection of liquid level, empty height, and ambient temperature.

The height of each of the 3 water storage tanks is 5 meters, with a maximum water level of 4.5 meters. According to the actual situation, installation requires cutting a hole at the top of the water storage tank and adding a flange to connect the sensor. The enclosed water storage tank has many internal structural components (as shown in the figure). It is necessary to select a location at the center of the top area with relatively open internal space, and clean the inner wall of the hole to be smooth, ensuring there is no obstruction below within the sensor's emission angle, to avoid ultrasonic measurement errors (e.g., see site photos).

Note: According to the instrument selection, combined with the actual site conditions and emission angle requirements, when the water level is below 0.35 meters, level fluctuation may occur (because at this distance, structural components within the ultrasonic emission angle can cause false readings). Therefore, the low-level alarm can be set above 0.35 meters.
