Dayu Electronics M45 Hydrophone Integrated Solution for Leak Monitoring of Heating Pipelines in Northeast China
Winter heating in Northeast China is vital to the warmth and safety of thousands of households. Heating pipeline networks operate under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions over long periods. Once a leak occurs, it not only wastes heat sources but may also cause large-scale heating shutdowns due to delayed repairs. How to achieve all-weather, efficient, and accurate leak monitoring of heating pipelines is a common challenge faced by heating companies. Recently, for the leak monitoring needs of a 1000-meter test pipeline of a heating company in Northeast China, our company provided a professional solution with the M45 hydrophone as the core, equipped with 4G wireless transmission. Initial verification results have been promising.

The customer's pipeline is a heating pipeline rated for 150°C, with a total length of 1000 meters. The requirement is to achieve leak point monitoring without damaging the pipeline structure. After on-site condition survey and solution evaluation, our technical team designed a leak monitoring solution based on "segmented deployment, wireless data acquisition, and backend analysis." The solution installs one high-sensitivity M45 hydrophone every 300 meters along the pipeline, setting up a total of 4 monitoring nodes for the 1000-meter pipeline to ensure seamless coverage of the monitoring range. Each hydrophone is equipped with a 4G wireless data transmission and data acquisition module, supporting real-time upload of the collected acoustic signals from inside the pipeline to the backend server. By analyzing the raw acoustic data over a period, the backend can accurately determine whether there is a leak point around the hydrophone and its specific location.

In heating pipeline monitoring, the environmental adaptability of equipment is crucial. The hydrophone used in this solution has excellent temperature resistance and can meet the customer's pipeline operating condition of 150°C. The equipment is installed externally without damaging the pipeline body, which not only avoids the risk of heat source interruption caused by shutdown for construction but also significantly reduces installation costs. The accompanying 4G wireless transmission module completely eliminates the limitations of on-site cabling, ensuring stable and reliable communication even in complex urban environments. During data acquisition, the backend system synchronously records the acoustic spectrum information of each node. By comparing and analyzing the acoustic characteristics at different times and nodes, it can accurately identify the characteristic acoustic waves generated by leaks, effectively eliminating environmental noise interference and ensuring the accuracy of early warning information.

Acoustic leak monitoring technology has achieved continuous monitoring within a 1000-meter range for large-diameter pipelines in practical engineering, with a false alarm rate below 0.5%. Moreover, multi-node data cross-comparison and backend intelligent analysis algorithms can further improve leak location accuracy, providing solid data support for heating companies to respond quickly and carry out precise repairs.
