M33 Externally Mounted Level Sensor: The Ideal Non-Contact Solution for Chemical Tank Measurement [Dayu Electronics]
In chemical production, measuring liquid levels inside tanks has always been a headache—especially when the medium is a high-temperature, pressurized water-based mixture with significant surface foaming. Traditional contact sensors are prone to corrosion, scaling, or bubble-induced reading fluctuations, while drilling holes for installation poses leakage risks.

To address this scenario, we recommend the Dayu Electronics M33 externally mounted level sensor. It attaches directly to the outside of the tank wall, with no contact with the medium, no need for penetration, easy installation, and complete elimination of leakage concerns. Under the following operating conditions: stainless steel tank, wall thickness 4 mm, internal temperature 80–90 °C, pressure 2–3 atm, and maximum liquid level 1 meter, the M33 can effectively penetrate the 4 mm stainless steel wall and, through intelligent echo signal processing, significantly reduce measurement fluctuations caused by surface bubbles.

In preliminary technical discussions, we noted that the medium temperature is in the 80–90 °C range and the working pressure is 2–3 atm. Although the M33 sensor itself is not affected by the tank pressure, we need to pay special attention to the actual conducted temperature on the outer tank wall to ensure long-term stable operation of the electronic components. Generally, conventional circuit boards are recommended to operate continuously at temperatures below 85 °C. If the outer wall temperature exceeds 85 °C for prolonged periods, high temperature may affect circuit board lifespan; if it stays within 85 °C, the sensor is fully suitable.

In chemical production, reliability is paramount. Therefore, we do not make blind recommendations or hide limitations. You can use a handheld infrared thermometer or a patch thermocouple to measure the actual temperature at the mounting location on the outer tank wall during normal operation. Share the measurement results with us; if the temperature is too high, we will also help find a more heat-resistant alternative solution.

Under 2–3 atm pressure, the acoustic coupling of the M33 is not affected. As for bubbles, since the sensor is externally mounted, the bubbles are only inside the liquid and do not affect the ultrasonic propagation path from the tank wall to the liquid surface, making it more stable than insertion-type sensors.
