The hydrophone captures the acoustic frequency generated by the leak, while the pressure sensor monitors fluctuations in pipe pressure. The two data streams are aggregated and cross-analyzed through algorithms—like performing a "CT scan" on the pipe. The system comprehensively determines whether a leak exists and precisely calculates the leak location based on the time difference of acoustic wave arrival at different sensors.

The M26 hydrophone supports non-invasive monitoring, installed on the outer wall of the pipe with a clamp-type fastener—no water shutdown required.
