No Need to Worry About 40MPa High-Pressure Conditions—Dayu Electronics' Ultrasonic Ranging Sensor Is Reliable
“Can your ultrasonic ranging sensor withstand 40MPa of pressure?”—This is a question we frequently encounter in after-sales and technical support.
Many customers tend to confuse a “ranging sensor” with a standalone “transducer probe” when selecting products. Here, Dayu Electronics wants to set the record straight: what we provide is a complete system that includes an ultrasonic transducer, driver circuit, algorithm software, output interface, and protective housing. Under this premise, achieving a pressure rating of 40MPa is entirely feasible.

However, there is one hard requirement: the size cannot be too small.
Why is size so critical? Consider that 40MPa is equivalent to 400 times atmospheric pressure—an extremely high pressure. If the housing is made extremely compact for aesthetic or installation convenience, the wall thickness may not meet the required specifications, and the enormous external pressure can easily cause deformation or even direct damage to the housing. Only by leaving sufficient margin in the structural design, making the housing robust, can the internal circuits and crystals survive, ensuring stable long-term operation in deep water or high-pressure tanks.

In addition to size, the housing material must also keep up. Ordinary plastic or aluminum alloy is no match for 40MPa, so we typically use high-strength stainless steel or titanium alloy to manufacture the housing. These materials offer good toughness and corrosion resistance, effectively withstanding high pressure and ensuring that pressure does not become a weak point of the device.
Currently, this type of high-pressure-resistant sensor is mainly used in special scenarios such as deep-sea exploration, liquid level monitoring in high-pressure reactors, and downhole operations in oil and gas fields. We do not overstate specifications; we focus on real-world performance.
